It would just add one additional playthrough for people struggling with the game. Playing in NG-0.5 wouldn't hurt the structure of the game at all either. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s combat plays very differently from Team Ninja’s own Nioh games more in the mold of Sekiro than Dark Souls and yet it manages to excel and falter in. Then it happened again in the next area of the game. It wasn't until it was ported to playstation when they added a proper easy mode (though in the re-release with dlc integrated, they had an easy and another mode that mocked you if you lost. (it happened to me during the 2nd zone while I was working my way to the 2nd boss). This sort of path into easy modes in games has existed since at least the PS2 era of games (DMC and Armored Core both had something along these lines.) The games FPS seems to be tied to the animations so if your PC drops in framerate in big areas the game will slow down and the enemies alongside yourself & animations. Then it could go into NG+, and so on, like normal. Players can also salvage weapon effects from open slots to add new ones. Adding weapon effects using embedment costs both Jewel Fragments and Coppers. Depending on the rarity, players have a limited amount of weapon effects they can slot into a weapon. So like everyone starts out in NG, but if you die like 10 times in a row to the first boss, the game could offer to switch you over to NG-0.5, then when you beat that, it could shift you back to NG. Players must choose the weapon they want to embed a weapon effect on. You could use the exact same logic for NG+s but in reverse to implement an easy mode. should have players crying about not having an easy mode. First off, I soloed the entire game, never used cheese spells, was usually around 10 levels under the recommended level for missions, used no guides, and didn't even get all the healing item upgrades.
